Dear Costco Member,

This holiday season, online shopping and shipping volumes are expected to be at an all-time high. As a result, small parcel delivery delays are expected. We encourage you to shop early this year, to ensure that your small parcel items arrive on time.

We don’t expect “big and bulky” items to be impacted (e.g., furniture, grills, mattresses, appliances, etc.).

With this in mind, we’ve taken the following steps:

  • Working with Shipping Providers: We’re working closely with our small parcel shipping providers to forecast daily holiday shopping volume. Our goal, and theirs, is to deliver your items as quickly and efficiently as possible. We suggest you consider enrolling in UPS My Choice, a service that provides you text and/or email updates on delivery status, and provides you with options to reroute packages.

  • Member Communication: We will strive to give you accurate estimates of delivery times before you place your order, display regular updates on our website, and provide easy access to your order’s tracking information. You also may sign up for text updates from Costco or visit UPS My Choice. Should we encounter any unexpected issues after you order, we will email you.

  • Same-Day Delivery: This service, available in most areas, now includes hundreds of additional “non-food” items. Shoppers employed by Instacart will deliver items via personal automobile, generally within hours after purchase. If available, the item will display “Quickest Delivery/Shop Same-Day Now” button on the item page.

We ask for your continued patience and support. Please know that we will do our part to get your purchases shipped to you quickly and efficiently. We sincerely appreciate your business.
