Gold Jewelry

Costco offers jewelry in either 14k or 18k gold with some wedding bands available in platinum. Costco is unable to customize metal preferences.

Gold is measured in karats. Pure gold, or 24k gold, indicates that it is entirely 24 parts gold and is not commonly used in the manufacturing of jewelry due to its softness. 18k and 14k gold is mixed with other alloys. The percentage of gold to its alloy is what determines its purity.

For instance, 18k is 18 parts gold to 6 parts alloy or 75% pure gold and will be stamped with either 18k or 750. 14k is 14 parts gold to 10 parts alloy or 58.3% pure gold and will be stamped with either 14k or 583. The remaining percentage is a mixture of metals.

Costco offers various styles of gold jewelry in yellow gold, white gold and/or rose gold. White gold is gold that is plated with Rhodium which is a precious metal that gives white gold it's color.

Care and Maintenance

Avoid contact with ammonia, chlorine and other harsh cleaning agents. Clean your gold jewelry with a soft, dry cloth to remove oils, soil or moisture. White gold may wear over time and may need replating to restore whiteness to your jewelry.
